1. The Queen Mary

Come aboard the legendary Queen Mary—once a grand ocean liner, now a floating hotel, dining destination, and one of the most haunted places in the world! Built in the 1930s, she carried Hollywood stars and WWII troops across the Atlantic.  Most nights live music or karaoke are offered at the Observation Bar for those 21+. When you register to attend, you gain free access to go on board The Queen Mary!

Parking: Is available on site and is $10 with Validation


2. El Dorado Nature Center

Escape into nature with two miles of walking trails, lush greenery, and peaceful lakes. This hidden oasis offers a perfect spot to reconnect with nature.

Hours:

  • Trails:Tue-Sun, 8am-5pm*No Trail entry after 4:30 pm.

  • Visitors Center:Tue-Sun, 8:30am-4pm

Parking: Is available on site and ranges from $6 to $9 depending upon the day for automobiles. Parking payments are cashless.

Pro Tip - You can avoid paying for parking by using the, Long Beach Transit. Bus route 104 runs weekdays & weekends.

3. Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden

A lush Japanese garden with a large, sculpted pine tree, surrounded by greenery and rocks under clear blue sky, creating a tranquil vibe.

Located on the Cal State Long Beach campus, this serene Japanese garden is a must-visit. With a free reservation, you can admire the koi pond, bonsai trees, and tranquil zen rock garden, but keep in mind, reservations are required.

Hours: 9am-4pm - but they can vary

Parking: Starts at $4 for 30 minutes up to $15 for daily parking.  Parking pay stations are cashless. The closest parking is in Lot G4, directly across from the Garden's entrance.


4. First Fridays in Bixby Knolls

On the first Friday of each month, Bixby Knolls transforms into an artistic hub featuring live music, local vendors, and pop-up galleries. Stroll through this vibrant neighborhood and soak in the creative energy.

5. Free Yoga on the Bluff

Start your day with a rejuvenating yoga session overlooking the ocean. These daily classes at Bixby Park Annex are donation-based and open to all skill levels.

Hours: Daily classes at 11am year-round.

Sunset classess are at 6 pm Monday through Friday from March 31st through October 31st.

Where to go: Corner of E Ocean Blvd and Junipero Ave., Long Beach, CA 90803

Parking: Free or metered public street parking is available. They recommend giving yourself ample time, as finding parking can be challenging!

What to bring: Sun protection, water, a blanket, yoga mat, or towel works great or you can practice right on the grass! Shade is minimal!

6. Museum of Latin American Art

Enjoy free admission every Sunday and explore a dynamic collection of Latin American art, featuring works from renowned and emerging artists.

Hours: 11am - 6 pm Wednesday through Sunday

Parking: Free at the Museum or on the street.
